SEASON 2 HIGHLIGHTS
The Shilp Aarambh GIFT City Run, Season 2, was flagged off by none other than boxing legend and Olympic medalist, MC Mary Kom.
MC Mary Kom, fondly known as 'Magnificent Mary,' expressed her excitement about being part of the event. She shared, "I am thrilled to support the Shilp Aarambh GIFT City Run. The cause they have chosen is incredibly important, and it means a lot to be here. GIFT City is amazing, and I was inspired by the positive energy of the people of Ahmedabad, who showed up early on a Sunday morning to endorse such an important message. My message to everyone is to stay fit—when you're fit, you can pursue the things you love."
Adding to the significance of the event, Sameer Wankhede, Additional Commissioner, DGTS, highlighted the importance of a drug-free future. Speaking to the media, he said, "I am honored to be part of the Shilp Aarambh GIFT City Run, as the theme of this event—building a drug-free future—is a critical one. It’s time to say no to drugs before it’s too late. Fortunately, the level of drug consumption in Ahmedabad is low, and I congratulate the Shilp Aarambh team for spreading this vital message. My message to the youth of Gujarat is to draw inspiration from real heroes like Mary Kom and Captain Vikram Batra, rather than actors and entertainers. Let’s pledge to say ‘No to drugs and Yes to life.’"
